The Dover Township Sewer Authority (DTSA) Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Dover, PA operates a 8.0 MGD plant that processes sewage from Dover Township and neighboring municipalities. Its comprehensive treatment process encompasses influent pumping, grit removal, biological nutrient removal (BNR), final clarifiers, and ultraviolet disinfection.

In a significant upgrade initiative in 2020, DTSA replaced its influent grinder with a SAVÉCO (formerly Enviro-Care) FSM Filterscreen. This advanced system effectively removes debris from incoming wastewater, safeguarding downstream processes against damage and clogging. The screenings undergo thorough treatment in the FSM Washer Compactor, where they are washed, dewatered, and compacted.

Since its implementation in October 2020, the screening equipment has been meticulously operated and maintained by the skilled operations staff, ensuring seamless functionality.

The Saveco FSM Filterscreen stands out as a fine screen solution with an exceptional capture rate, making it an ideal choice for wastewater treatment plants aiming for optimal influent screening performance. It is constructed from durable 304 or 316 stainless steel, this fully automatic, self-cleaning screen offers perforations ranging from 3 mm to 12 mm, tailored to efficiently remove debris while safeguarding downstream equipment. Notably, an FSM screen with 6 mm holes with double the screening retention of a 6 mm bar screen.

The Washer Compactor, a vital component of the system, utilizes a screw auger press to wash, dewater, and compact screenings, significantly reducing their weight and volume. With its ability to eliminate over 95% of fecal matter, this equipment ensures the production of a clean, dry end product. Designed to handle a wide range of debris, from rags and wipes to bricks and rocks, the Washer Compactor offers unmatched versatility and efficiency.
