H-Tec Air Release Valves

Envirep/TLC is the exclusive manufacturer’s rep for H-Tec air valves in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia.

About H-Tec

H-TEC manufactures innovative and high-quality air valves for potable water distribution systems and wastewater force mains. Their products are functional and corrosion resistant, providing long-term cost savings for municipalities and private utilities.

Air valves in force mains serve two primary functions:

The first function is to release air or gas accumulated at the high points in the force main. This air accumulation occurs when the buoyancy or the air is greater than the energy to convey the air with the liquid.

The second function of an air valve is to add air into the piping system when the internal pressure of the pipeline drops below atmospheric pressure. Admitting air into the pipe reduces the vacuum, prevents a potential collapse of the force main, and the formation of vapor cavities.

H-Tec air valves improve the efficiency of pumping systems by preventing air accumulation in the force main. Pumping system efficiency is improved by removing air from the piping system that increases the line pressure, reduces flow, and increases pumping costs.

The H-Tec air valve used for these applications is an H-Tec air and vacuum valve. H-Tec manufactures a comprehensive line of air valves. Each has unique characteristics which make them ideal for specific applications.

PRODUCTS

Traditional air release valves operate with two functions: open or closed. The H-TEC valves include a rubber diaphragm seal with an infinitely variable operating. As the float rises, it slowly closes the diaphragm seal and reduces the airflow. This function slows the water column to prevent water hammer. In addition, the variable orifice seal allows utilities to standardize using the same air valve on every high point on all their force mains.

FEATURES

Innovative Design

The large body prevents contamination by creating a large air gap. The beveled bottom allows debris to be quickly and easily flushed back into the force main. The smooth interior surface ensures debris does not plug the valve. The debris shield prevents solids from contaminating the seal.

Non-Leaking

The valve will seal drip tight even at 0 psi pressure in the process piping. Traditional ARV’s require 3 PSI or more to close the seal, resulting in a release of sewage.

Infinitely Variable Air Discharge/Intake

The unique cup seal allows infinitely variable amounts of air in, or out as needed by the application.

Easy Maintenance

Service personnel can easily remove the working parts of the valve through the top of the valve, including the cup seal.

Corrosion Resistant Materials

The internal components are stainless steel and high-grade plastics such as Buna-N, Polyethylene, and Delrin®. They will not corrode in wastewater applications. H-Tec valves provide years of dependable service in corrosive environments.

Light Weight

H-Tec valves weigh much less than traditional air release valves making installation and maintenance easier.
